BBFC takes part in Cinemagic Film and Television Festival for under-12s in Belfast

On Thursday 10 October and Friday 11 October the BBFC education team is taking part in the Cinemagic Film and Television Festival for under-12s in Belfast.

BBFC Education Officer Heidi Renton will hold two ‘BBFC That’s Classified’ sessions with pupils at Cliftonville Integrated Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School, to help them understand BBFC age ratings and how films are classified. Heidi will also present the film WRECK-IT RALPH (PG) to an audience of 110 children and 20 teachers, explaining why the film is rated PG and how BBFC film examiners classify films.

Heidi Renton, BBFC Education Officer said: “We always enjoy our trips to Belfast for the Cinemagic festival and we’re really pleased to be taking part again this year. We’re particularly excited about taking our BBFC classification workshop to two local primary schools, in addition to introducing WRECK-IT RALPH to pupils and their teachers before the festival screening of the film at the Odeon cinema in Belfast.”

The Cinemagic Film and Television Festival programme for under 12 year olds takes place from 4-18 October in Belfast and features new film previews from around the world, classic films for young people, a CineSeekers film review panel, film and television masterclasses, education workshops and filmmaking competitions to motivate, educate and inspire young people.
