THE LION KING is a musical drama in which a young lion is cast out of the pride after the death of his father.

Threat

The lion cub is caught up in a stampede of wildebeest; his father is killed during the rescue attempt. Cubs are chased by hyenas intent on killing them.

Violence

Lions fight together, and with other animals, using bites, throws and blows to the face. A lion kills his brother by throwing him from a cliff.

The death of loved-ones is a theme of the film. A lion's chin is seen to be bloody while feeding. There is rude humour concerning a flatulent warthog, as well as infrequent use of very mild bad language ('God').
