THE BOOK OF HENRY is a US drama in which a boy needs his mother's help in a plan to save their young neighbour.

Theme

Part of the story is about child abuse. Characters are shown to be shocked by the abuse. There are also references to bruises on a girl's body. This issue is treated with discretion and no abuse is shown.

There are also some distressing scenes when an 11-year-old boy is diagnosed with a terminal illness and later, scenes tackling the theme of bereavement.

Language

There is infrequent use of strong language and milder bad language.

A suicide is implied by an off screen gunshot, and a woman is shown planning and preparing to shoot a man before changing her mind. Other issues include brief mild scenes of bullying, infrequent drug references, and infrequent references to alcohol abuse.
